Hi, my name is Claire and I am a third year journalism student studying at ECU in Western Australia. Over the summer break I have taken up an opportunity to do a work placement in the Pilbara which was offered to journalism students by the Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health (CUCRH). I will be in Port Hedland for three weeks working for the local media (newspapers, radio station etc.). This blog will be a documentation of my experiences.
N.B. I do not get the chance to sit at a computer everyday, so some of these posts will be published after the day they are based on - in this case it will be a matter of typing out my handwritten daily log.
